Satipatthana,
the Direct Path to Realisation with Bonni Ross

April 16th - 30th

At The Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre
Picture
In Buddhadharma, the most basic teachings are often the most profound. This is very different from our western conditioning where “kindergarten” stuff is lesser. “Beginners mind” is going beyond expectations and preconceived ideas to experience directly, with an open mind and fresh, unburdened senses. This is the basis for realisation: things as they really are.

This teaching, declared by Sakyamuni Buddha as the direct path of liberation, will be introduced by Bonni in the first week in a clear overview — beginning with concepts, combined with meditation practice — of the 14 subjects of exploration that are outlined in the Satipatthana and Mahasatipatthana Suttas.

Meditation for Peace with Bonni Ross
Cancelled at Fairfield House due to many of us being in close contact with COVID.

However, we can all practice together from our own homes, at 8:00pm tonight; the time we would have been meeting at Fairfield House.

Sunday May 1st, 8pm

We share this suggestion from Bonni:

“Generate a full embodied state of loving kindness, wishing that all living beings on this planet enjoy peaceful conditions and opportunities to heal themselves and develop their full awakened potential as human beings.  Do not let this pure intention waver!”

Our gathering will form part of a global network with the aspiration to alleviate suffering and to direct powerful meditative energy towards peace in our world, which is so needed right now.

Time Out for Dharma in a Meditation-based Community

May 3rd - 14th

At The Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre
Picture
Some members of the dharmasphere collective will be meditating at the Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre from May 3 to 14. We’ll be sitting together morning and evening, but other than that, activity will be self-directed, with the emphasis on silent solo meditation. It is also possible to offer service in support of Jacinta, the new Centre caretaker.

We invite you to join us! To attend you will need to:
  •     Be experienced enough in meditation to practice on your own with confidence.
  •     Join at the beginning and stay for as long as you are able.
  •     Bring sufficient food for your stay.

We will work out communal meal prep/clean up when we know who is on the land. There will be no “organising person” but a compassionate engagement in meditation-based community life.
